Lily Beckham an 07-Bernard player and Will Locknane an 07 Bernard player will represent FCD-ETX, NTX soccer and the Region III team moving forward. We congratulate these two on their accomplishments and recognize them for being exemplary models of our motto “Train Locally, Play Globally”. These two are bright and shining examples of what top level commitment looks like.
When asked about the experience and how they felt, both players noted that it was quite a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction knowing their hard work is paying off. Will, in particular, mentioned just how at ease he felt during the training sessions and pool games due to his preparation he gets with his FCD-ETX 07 boys team. Will said “we train so hard here(FCD-ETX 07 boys) that it was just another game to me”.
Lily, on the other hand, had some interesting insight into her preparation and what she felt helped propel her to the top. Lily noted that her playing with her FCD-ETX girls team, coupled with training with our 07 FCD-ETX boys team, plus numerous visits to train with our FCD DA and ECNL groups in Frisco helped push her out of her comfort zone. She stated that “all that training with different teams helped me have to adapt to new teams and players”; Something that she says was so important when heading to the regional games with new coaches and players.
We’re all so extremely proud of each of these two and their accomplishments! Congratulations to the players and parents on achieving this honor and the whole club looks forward to watching your continued development!
